While using the web version of BeFunky, you can upload a photo directly just from anywhere, even Facebook or a webcam. Once you get your images loaded, the later proceedings like adding filters and effects take place.
BeFunky didn’t invent anything new on their photo editor. Still, it’s good and a trusted platform. It’s not that BeFunky has some clever take on filters which will stun you. It just gives you sufficient control over them in a straightforward, easy-to-use format.
BeFunky chose to create their own social network in which you can organize and find your photos and pictures of other users. More like Pinterest. Regardless of whether you are in the browser system or anywhere from your mobile device, you can access this network. Your photos are available to you everywhere on the app.
Unlike Instagram, in BeFunky you can fully edit your photos both in the web and the mobile version. There are different filters available for single-click edits and you can share the images directly on social networks. The mobile version of the BeFunky photo editor is more organized. It consists of categories such as nature, pets, faces, etc.
Apply an effect and you immediately get a related slider just like Instagram that lets you adjust the severity of that effect. You must be familiar with such functioning. You can also zoom in and out. It’s handy for those times you need to get it just right.

Photo Editor
If you try to upload a RAW image from your computer, take a note that free photo editor BeFunky cannot open RAW pictures. I don’t think it’s a major issue.
The editing app does have some major takeaways/ Keeping the ad factor aside, you won’t regret using it. You can use the .jpg or .png formats for image retouching.
For editing in the “Edit” area of BeFunky, you can use three sets of tools –
- Essentials.
- Blur & Smooth.
- Miscellaneous.
The main tools are in the Essentials set. Some tools there are marked with an asterisk which means that this tool is not available in the BeFunky photo editor free version.
You can adjust the contrast and exposure, but interesting functions like Levels or Background are unavailable in the free version. You can also edit the Layers and change the background.
The given set of tools in the free version is enough to improve the picture significantly. The other sets like the Touch-up bundle have practically no free tools. So it’s better not to open those tabs! The Blush tool also turns out to be useless. This photo editor tool changes the skin color roughly ( which we don’t desire).
The Blemish Fix tool turned out to be very useful. It perfectly eliminates all the skin spots and imperfections. ‘Fix Redeye’ is also great if you want to remove the red-eye effect. You may be disappointed by the speed but the quality is quite satisfactory.
There are no other settings to do everything satisfactorily. Paint Brush isn’t great for photo editing and works similar to Blush.
Another drawback is that the program offers no directory to understand how all the tools work!
BeFunky Designer
The Graphic Design of BeFunky is another cool feature. You don’t need some special skill or knowledge to create impressive designs. With the Graphic Designer feature, it is like a piece of cake. You can use different tools that are easily adjustable.
Besides, Designer also has a great variety of pre-made templates to choose from. If you have the proper inspiration and the urge to create stunning designs, you can create templates from the scratch. Users can create designs for:

- Banners
- Posters
- Menus, and many more.
There are a great variety of templates to satisfy your need. About 200 templates are available for editing to create stunning designs. But the drawback is most of them or approximately 90% of them will be unavailable in the free version. If you want to use the free version only, I can’t guarantee you. But trust me, its paid version is wonderful and worth your money.
