But there is a learning curve associated with getting the most out of it and avoiding the common lightroom mistakes.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:heading -->\n<h2><span style=\"color: #ffcc00;\"><strong>Not Using the Right Version<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<!-- \/wp:heading --><!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Lightroom may seem very confusing with the recent name changes.\u00a0<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>There are to types &#8211; \u201cLightroom Classic\u201d and \u201cLightroom CC ( Cloud Based)\u201d. Some photographers use the desktop app, but Lightroom Classic is the better because you retain complete control by keeping your images on your hard drives.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Lightroom Classic is also more reliable. It offers many advanced applications like Print and Book. In fact, the target audience for Lightroom CC is beginners.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>It\u2019s a separate version of Lightroom Classic. You also have difficulty with the backups. But it gives you a lot of flexibility and control while organizing your images.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>You can add an image to as many collections as you want. People think that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pictureeditor.com\/picture-editor\/\">photo editing means making color<\/a> changes to the file. For Instance, you want to find all your party images to update a portfolio on your website.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>If you are someone from stock photography, you should put at least 20 keywords in the metadata of every image you upload.\u00a0<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Searching for keywords is the simplest way to find the images on the sites.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:heading -->\n<h2><span style=\"color: #ffcc00;\"><strong>Renaming or Moving Images<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<!-- \/wp:heading --><!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>It may happen that you renamed a file or didn\u2019t take note where you put it. It becomes a nightmare to organize them. You\u2019ll have to hunt those down and relink. Ugghhh!<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>When you change the name of a file outside the software, it doesn\u2019t know where to find it. So, you should always change the name within the program itself.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:heading -->\n<h2><strong>Ignoring the Histogram<\/strong><\/h2>\n<!-- \/wp:heading --><!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>One of the biggest mistakes beginners make is ignoring the histogram.\u00a0<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>A histogram gives you accurate information on how well an image is exposed. In Lightroom, the Histogram panel features warnings. Usually, people avoid it or don\u2019t use it properly. It can make the most powerful difference in your photos.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>The Tone Curve affects the overall contrast of a photo. You can make images brighter and affect the levels of contrast.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>After adjusting the RGB curve, you\u2019ll find that the images will start having a lot of depth.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>There are several ways to work on color in Lightroom.\u00a0<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:heading -->\n<h2><span style=\"color: #ffcc00;\"><strong>Oversharpening\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<!-- \/wp:heading --><!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Images from a digital camera require sharpening.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>If you shoot in JPEG format, then they are already sharpened to some extent. RAW files also need sharpening when post-processing. The key is not sharpening them too much.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Oversharpened photos emphasize noise and add a pixelated, grainy look to the image, creating harsh edges.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Luckily, Lightroom has many tools that will help you avoid doing extreme saturation.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Go to Detail panel, select the option Sharpening, and apply a default value of sharpening such as +50 or -40.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Then, click on Option\/Alt and drag the mouse towards the right. As a consequence, your image will start to look like an x-ray, which will show black and white regions to let you know where it\u2019s being sharpened.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Insufficient saturation depends on the image.
